Zakrzów CHP plant
CHP plant with nominal electric power of 3.7 MWe and thermal power of 36.3 MWt supplies high-quality energy to the Wrocław-based company "Polar" S.A. and inhabitants of the Zakrzów residential area located nearby, based on a 20-year contract. The investment included construction of a “turnkey” CHP plant with associated infrastructure (gas pipeline and connections).
Electric power is generated by a gas turbo-generator with the nominal electric power of 3.7 MWe. Heat in hot water is generated by a heat recovery boiler with the capacity of 6.3 MWt and three gas and oil water boilers with the heat power of 10 Mg/h each. The system also includes a turbine bypass system, water treatment system, system operation and control elements, and electrical connections. Turbo-generator and boilers are installed in the area of 1200 square meters. The construction works were launched in June 1999, and the facility was put into operation in October 2000. The entire investment from the concept phase to completion took only 2 years.
- The new CHP plant will improve the quality of air around the site – said Zbigniew Szczypiński, President of the Board of Directors of "Polar" S.A. - This investment will eliminate emissions of sulphur compounds and dusts. Plus, the Company will spend no funds on its construction. As a result, we will earmark PLN 10m to upgrade our processes.
