Saturn CHP plant
Mondi Packaging Paper Świecie S.A., a company listed on the WSE, is the biggest business partner of Polish Energy Partners S.A. in industrial power outsourcing. It is the fourth 20-year industrial power outsourcing contract signed by PEP S.A. Also in this case, PEP is responsible for the management of electricity and heat generation assets to cover energy demand of the paper manufacturing plant. Since 2002, PEP S.A. has been responsible for the upgrade of facilities, operation of the CHP plant, and supply of electricity and heat to Mondi Packaging Paper Świecie S.A.
Under the said contract, Polish Energy Partners S.A. constructed a cutting-edge CFB (Circulating Fluidized Bed) boiler in 2004. It is the largest CFB boiler in Poland, used for economical and environmentally-friendly burning of bio-fuels (natural wood waste) and (as a complement) burning of coal in any proportions.
